Autumn
I love colored leaves
Swirling in the
autumn breeze
Yellow and oranges
Volleyball
Volleyball means a
lot of different things to me,
It causes me stress,
Coaches pressing
their hope onto you,
Hoping that you’ll do
good today,
But honestly I never
know if I will do good or bad,
The practices wear me
out,
And by the end of the
season,
I have had no sleep,
It also has some good
things to it though,
Like the adrenaline rush
you get while you’re playing,
Or getting that
perfect pass,
Smacking it right
over the net to get the perfect kill,
And I’m going to miss
that,
Because I don’t know
if I want the stress.
Sonnet 19
A triangle of love
Its yellow color
glistens
Every bite is like a
dove
Everybody listens
Bringing in pepperoni, cheese, and meat
Everybody cheers
It’s a treat
The air is clears
Its smell fills the
air
They line up ready
They eat and eat
without a care
Everyone eats, except
Freddy
But when I go to get
a piece
It’s gone.
The Beauty and the Horror
Once again I have
misunderstood the meaning of life,
When I was younger I
thought by the time I was 16 I would be moving mountains,
But sadly I am not,
The world can be a
very harsh place,
People will tell you
to do things in which you cannot do,
And sometimes those
things you cannot do will throw you in a deep pit of despair,
But there are good
things in the world too,
Like landscapes that
are so beautiful they cause tears to fall from your face,
With beautiful trees
a bright sun and a blue sky,
There will be amazing
people you will meet throughout your life,
Some of those people
you may fall in love with too,
But love is a problem
in itself that I don’t want to explain,
So yes life does have
the good and the bad some will have more bad than good and some will have more
good than bad,
But that will just
depend on the life that you lead.
Dana
I am a sophomore in
high school and I have no idea what I want to do for the rest of my life,
Most of the kids my
age don’t know either,
But the kids that do
know what they’re going to do I am very jealous of,
They don’t have to
deal with the stress of not knowing,
They have ideas of
where they want to go to college,
And I am so jealous
of them,
I can see myself
doing so many things with my life,
I could see myself
doing mostly everything in any art career,
I could see myself
being a clothing designer or anything in the fashion industry,
I’ve had ideas of
being a physical therapist,
I’ve even have had an
idea of being a orthodontist,
I know I’m going to
change my mind a million times,
And I can’t make up
my mind,
I just want to do
something I love.
In-In
They thought you were
dead,
They cried and
remembered you for what you were,
You were 92 they had
to have seen it coming but just not this way,
How could a man live
with hitting an old woman with their car?
You died slowly and
then all at once,
You suffered but you
were in a better place,
Your children wanted
you to fight to be there again,
So did you,
Electric pulses run
through you,
Fighting fighting
fighting,
Nothing-more-some,
You live your life to
the fullest now,
Never forget to tell
the people you care for you love them,
Live everyday as if
it was your last.
Just Friends
Just friends,
The words that stung
my ears while you and I were sitting at your house bawling our eyes out like
infants,
Just friends,
The words that
crushed my hope of getting back together,
I never can look at
you the same way,
I told you I wouldn’t
be the same person,
And I’m not,
I’m a broken piece of
what I used to be,
And when I tell you
that you cry,
Like as if somehow I
did this to you,
You said it yourself
this is what’s better for you,
But what’s better for
me?
You told me that you
loved me more than once every day,
Even the day before
we were no more,
I don’t know why you
did this and I will never know why,
You cry every night
and so do I,
How is this better
for us,
You still want to
talk on the phone and FaceTime me every night,
Text me and Snapchat
all day,
You still want to
come to my house after school,
You call me your best
friend,
And that you can’t
see us together anymore,
And I say fuck that
because you can’t even look me in the eye when you say this is better for you,
So you and I both
know it’s not.
Teenage Blues
I gave you my heart,
You tore it out of my
chest,
Stomped on it with no
remorse,
How is this better
for us?
You’re crying,
I’m crying,
It’s been less than
24 hours,
I miss you like
crazy,
You say you might
want to get back together,
I don’t understand,
How am I supposed to
forgive you?
